On 28 of February 2011, the Scottish Government introduced the new PVG Scheme that replaced the disclosure arrangements for people who work with vulnerable groups.

Employers are only allowed to ask new employees to join the PVG Scheme. Existing staff will not be able to apply to join the Scheme until February 2012.
